Golden Rock

The locals of Myanmar call this Kyaiktiyo Zedi, which is a pagoda sitting above a huge rock giving the appearance as if it is about to fall from the edge of the cliff. Both the pagoda as well as the rock are covered with gold leaf and the rock is situated at a distance of approximately 1,100 m above sea level. The locals believe that this rock is held at that place only due to the blessings of Buddha. Also, they believe that the pagoda comprises a strand of Buddha’s hair. Shwedagon Pagoda

It is located on Singuttara Hill (Yangon) and is almost 2,500-year-old. When this pagoda was built for the first time, its height was only 8 meters which have changed to 99 meters over the years. Taung Kalat Monastery

Situated at the top of Mount Popa, Taung Kalat Monastery is another exceptional monastery in Myanmar that is known to attract a large number of visitors every year, particularly Buddhists. It is a volcanic mountain top and can be witnessed from a distance of more than 60 km on a sunny day. Inle Lake

A freshwater lake situated at the heart of the Taunggyi district, Inle Lake has a surface area of approximately 116 km, and is considered to be the second largest lake in the country. Interestingly, there is a hot water spring present on the northwestern shore of the lake with a wide range of aquatic flora and fauna. Honeymoon couples can visit this lake to enjoy its calmness and serenity.

Floating village of Inle Lake

There are numerous floating villages in the beautiful Inle Lake of Myanmar which are prepared using wood and are built on slits. There are more than 80,000 people who are inhabitants of this village and mainly belong to the Intha tribe. However, there are other tribes also residing in this floating village. The most popular floating market is the Ywama floating market which remains packed with tourist boats as well as vendors that sell handicraft products.

Yangon

Mandalay

Bagan

An ancient city that UNESCO has declared a World Heritage Site, Bagan is located in the Mandalay region of Myanmar. Earlier, it was the capital city of the Bagan Kingdom (the first kingdom to initiate the unification of regions to form Myanmar). During the 11th and 13th centuries, more than 10,000 Buddhist temples were constructed in Bagan, along with pagodas as well as monasteries. Out of these, only 2200 temples and pagodas have managed to survive throughout the centuries.
